Dining

Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge offers two restaurants: Maku for fine dining set menus with local reindeer and fish, and Lavvu for a breakfast buffet with herring, waffles, and other Nordic specialties. The restaurants provide customizable dining options, accommodating special diets such as vegetarian and gluten-free when requested. The breakfast buffet is included in the stay, and guests can also order a la carte lunches and soups.

Wellness

The lodge's spa and wellness centre includes a sauna, hot tub, and open-air bath, plus treatments like full body massage and couples massage. The spa facilities require advance booking and an additional fee of 350 NOK per use. The outdoor hot tub and sauna are available for guests to reserve for private relaxation.

Activities

Sorrisniva provides proactive guest alerts when the Northern Lights are visible, and staff dim outdoor lights to improve viewing. The hotel arranges guided dog sledding, snowmobiling, and reindeer sleigh rides with Sami cultural experiences. Guests can also borrow snowshoes for self-guided hikes on marked trails along the Alta River.

Rooms

River view rooms at the Arctic Wilderness Lodge have large windows and balconies overlooking the Alta River, with some rooms featuring a glass roof for watching the Northern Lights from bed. The river suite includes a sitting area, games, and a fireplace. The deluxe double rooms also offer balconies, and all rooms have spacious bathrooms with large showers.

Seasonal Ice Hotel

Each December, the property builds a seasonal ice hotel with themed suites, such as those inspired by Greek mythology, complete with ice sculptures and an ice bar. Guests can stay overnight in the ice hotel using polar sleeping bags, with access to a sauna and breakfast buffet in the morning. The ice hotel is also open for daytime tours for visitors not staying overnight.
